Images From the Front (Vol. II)

The Norway Action – April 1940

In this volume we see photos from albums of three young soldiers of this pivotal action. This volume

contains personal photos from the albums of a soldier in the Heer (the German Army), the Kriegsmarine (the German Navy) and the Luftwaffe (the German Air Force).

Naturally, this time was not all struggle, fighting and combat. As with all young men in the service of their country, especially in times of struggle and death, they relaxed in many ways and many took photos.

These photos were not only of their brothers-in-arms and images of their life and death struggle on the front lines but also the photos they carried of loved ones back home.

Look at what these young soldiers saw and lived through, when many of their comrades didn’t make it. Yes, we sadly see military funerals and cemeteries as well.
